Jacques Bianchi Marseille revisits its legendary JB300 military dive watch
In June 2021, the JB200 went back to sea. A limited edition of 1,393 pieces, launched exclusively on Kickstarter, funded at 527% of its goal in one month by 1,116 backers. This is the piece that marked the official relaunch of the Jacques Bianchi Marseille brand — a faithful re-edition of a French diver's watch adopted by the French Navy, modernized with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement.
Kickstarter, June 2021
On June 15, 2021, the JB200 went live on Kickstarter — the official relaunch of a French icon that had remained discreet for decades. The campaign, planned for one month, was 527% funded over its initial objective: 1,116 backers, 791,406 euros raised, 1,393 watches pledged. A direct, intermediary-free approach that places the community of enthusiasts at the heart of the project. The company is setting sail again, carried by those who did not hesitate to answer the call.
A faithful re-release
The JB200 Diver is designed as a rigorous homage to the original model — without aiming to be a copy. 42mm 316L stainless steel case, screw-down crown at 9 o'clock in the inherited "destro" configuration, matte black dial signed with the white painted diver silhouette that was already the visual signature of the historical piece. Cream lume indices, solid triangle at 12 o'clock, date at 6 o'clock. Every detail respects the original grammar, brought up to today's technical standards.
The switch to mechanical
One of the major choices for the relaunch was technical: abandoning the original quartz movement for an automatic mechanical caliber. The chosen movement is the Seiko NH35 — a Japanese movement widely proven for its robustness, reliability, and accuracy. An assumed upgrade, which places the JB200 in the category of modern mechanical dive watches without denying its heritage.

ÉTANCHÉITÉ
The configuration of
Crown at 9 o'clock. This is the model's ergonomic signature – a configuration designed for right-handed divers who wear their watch on their left wrist: the crown no longer digs into the back of the hand during movements underwater. A technical detail that has become a hallmark.
Three bracelets included
Each JB200 Diver comes with three straps to suit all uses: a black Tropic rubber strap for diving, a black Perlon strap with an "original army 1990" weave, referencing issued models, and a sand Perlon strap for everyday wear. This versatility is designed to ensure the watch can be worn long-term in all possible contexts.
Assembled in Marseille
The JB200 is assembled in Marseille, exactly 280 meters from the Old Port. Each component passes through the hands of the company before leaving: waterproofness testing, movement verification, finishing, numbering. A local, demanding production, designed to last.
Super-Luminova®: Heritage Illuminates the JB300
At Jacques Bianchi Marseille, visibility is a historical hallmark.
The JB200 Diver applies this legacy to a dial faithful to the original model: the circular and rectangular indexes and the triangle at 12 o'clock are applied in cream Super-LumiNova®, consistent with the luminous markings on the bezel. At night, the instrument becomes as readable as it is during the day — as required for a watch designed for diving.
